i'm not seeing any posts about it here yet, but they solved the silas birchtree riddle on reddit and there's some pretty juicy lore! first, entering "paranoid" backwards nets this conspiracy board:

then, from the black letters in the corners of some of the pages people pieced together the code "connect the dots", backwards again, gets a whopping 12 page chapter about the ciphertology cult! it's...something.

so in summary, bill puppeted a guy's corpse, became a cult leader, seemingly married over a hundred people, mass-possessed his followers, tried to get them to build his portal. his lone dissenter was a spinster who made anti-bill chick tracts and started a fire. a waco-style shootout ensued, killing silas' already-rotting corpse a second time in a disturbingly detailed manner. at some point he made some of his followers drink the kool-aid too.

entering the lady's name, emmaline butternubbins, into the computer finally gets you the reward for solving all the riddles: hd wallpapers of various graphics from the book of bill. but frankly this is more interesting and fucked up to me.

every time someone mischaracterizes nuanced character relationships and turns it into a basic parent-child dynamic, i die a little inside

my main gripe with this is about nahida being called scara's mom/aunt but it also extends to zhongli & xiao, beidou & kazuha, wriothesley & sigewinne, neuvillette & furina, and others.

like. i enjoy found family as much as everyone else, but that is a terrible injustice to the characters' writing. the character typecast as the child is infantilized to hell and back while the other character is reduced to a 2d caricature of the perfect parent. Bruh

don't get me wrong, headcanons are fine and all, it just irks me that some people consider it lore accurate when it really isn't

About the Swantello AU, we've seen that Donnie has scars on his shell and that Raph's eye color is different. Are there other scars they or someone else have? Does Donnie notice them like he did with Raph's eye?

these are all the notable scars, aside from donnie's shell (he also has matching scars on one arm, similar to raph and mikey.) they have other minor bumps and scrapes here and there as a crew, but these are all the big ones.

Like perhaps the Abbey he’d been sent to be raised in sent out Yuletide cards with a class photo one year and when she received hers, she didn’t simply put it in her desk drawer like she normally did. Instead, she combed over each child’s face, looking for familiar features, trying desperately in her mind to recall every inch of what her infant looked like and how it might’ve translated into a young schoolboy’s face.

Or maybe when the register showing promotions to priesthood or bishophood came in, she scanned through them and saw a man with a very familiar nose and eyes. Notably, one of them a stark white even through the monotone photography.

She sees him and she just. Knows that’s him. That’s her child. He’s growing up and doing fine without her, all things considered. He’s rising up in the church on his own deeds and according to letters of recommendations accompanying his files, he’s a very diligent worker. Already has a multitude of Employee of the Month awards at his home abbey alone, sure to acquire more if he becomes a more core member of the Church.

Sister’s lips press into a line, she tears her eyes away from the papers and photos with a deep sigh, and puts them all away for now. She’ll have to get into contact with him at some point. That is inevitable. But for now, she has to collect herself. She’s never been so…uneasy about meeting a stranger before…
